This final $15 million phase of Battleship TEXAS Foundation’s capital campaign will create an entirely new visitor experience at the USS TEXAS. There will be 60 total restored spaces that feature interactive, and technology driven exhibits, artificial reality, holograms, guided tours, and integrations with cell phones.
In addition, the TEXAS will now be climate controlled for year round access and include more bathrooms for visitors. These enhancements will pave the way for bigger and better educational programming on board: The expansion of our existing Overnight Education Program and Hard Hat Tours, new field trip experiences for school children, Living History events, and more. BTF will also build new home port infrastructure, valued at approximately $8.5M to house the Battleship and to safely moor her at Pier 21.
