The ``Second D-Day``
The Invasion of Southern France in August 1944, Operation Dragoon, was USS Texas's last operation in Europe. Often overlooked, Dragoon was a follow-up to the Invasion of Normandy and one of the most successful amphibious assaults of the war. Battleship Texas is now the last surviving battleship that served in Operation Dragoon. Explore our latest online exhibit for a closer look at USS Texas's role in the ``Second D-Day``.

Operation Torch
Our first online exhibit tells the story of Operation Torch, the Allied Invasion of North Africa in 1942. While not as well-remembered as the Invasion of Normandy or the Battle of Okinawa, Operation Torch was a pivotal moment in the Second World War. The Allied victory in North Africa brought France back into the war, massively shifted the balance of power in the Mediterranean, and delivered a victory to the folks at home.
