General Quarters!
Find out what it takes to be an anti-aircraft gunner aboard Battleship Texas during WWII! Gear up and learn about the gun, the crew, and their mission to protect the vessel from potential air attacks. Accompanying the gun are interactive displays that explain how the crews identified if a plane was a friend or foe, how the gun was loaded and cared for, and the personal equipment worn by the crew.
Note: This interactive has some restrictions due to its size and weight. Not all venues are suitable.
Campaign Briefing
Through a campaign briefing, learn about one of the critical campaigns Battleship Texas participated in throughout the two World Wars! Each display contains information and props to help tell the story of the ship and crew’s involvement during that pivotal battle in United States history.
Presentations
Learn about the ship’s history, an artifact, or life aboard during WWI and WWII with a presentation provided by Battleship Texas! Presentations can fit your event’s needs and range from a thirty-minute to an hour run time.

Discuss the ship’s thirty-four-year service history and how this historic vessel participated in some of the most pivotal campaigns in the United States Navy’s history.

Outreach Program Request Form
Please fill out the attached form to request an outreach program for your event, school, organization, etc. We try to fulfill as many requests as possible, but we cannot fulfill every request.
- Please submit your request at least 30 days in advance of the event date.
- The size of your event, length of the event, and distance from Houston are all major factors in whether or not we can fulfill your request.
Regarding requests for the 20mm Gun Trailer:
- If your event is multi-day or far enough from Houston that the trailer cannot return the same day, a secure location for overnight storage must be available.
- The trailer is roughly 12 feet wide by 18 feet long and requires a flat area with reasonable space to back in or pull through in order to park and setup.
