Operation Torch
Our first online exhibit tells the story of Operation Torch, the Allied Invasion of North Africa in 1942. While not as well-remembered as the Invasion of Normandy or the Battle of Okinawa, Operation Torch was a pivotal moment in the Second World War. The Allied victory in North Africa brought France back into the war, massively shifted the balance of power in the Mediterranean, and delivered a victory to the folks at home.

Traveling the World on a City at Sea
The Galveston Railroad Museum is hosting a Battleship Texas exhibit created by our friends at Texas Parks & Wildlife through April 2024. This exhibit takes a look at Battleship Texas’s travels around the world from 1914 to 1948, and features many artifacts that have never been on display before!
