Posted by Battleship Texas Foundation on July 26, 2024

The Leibrocks both grew up in West Texas, later retiring to Houston for family. Bob was an independent oil operator, and he served as a trustee or president of several foundations and other nonprofits. Pam’s background is in special education, she was the director of a children’s Christian education program for many years and also volunteered extensively in a number of nonprofits.
Interests: Pam and Bob have a strong interest in history, particularly Texas history, which was ignited by an inspiring teacher during Bob’s school years. They also have a passion for initiatives related to human services, higher education, and innovative educational programs for children. Additionally, they are avid supporters of early Texas art.
Involvement with Battleship Texas Foundation: The Leibrocks were drawn to the Battleship Texas Foundation in part due to their familial ties to World War II, with both fathers having served in pivotal battles. They were particularly interested in the “Bring Her Home” campaign, recognizing it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a lasting impact on Texas history and education. They envision the Texas as a premier state educational and tourist resource.
Long-Term Goals: Pam and Bob support organizations, including the Battleship Texas Foundation, that are capable of fulfilling their long term missions. They hope their contributions continue to make a difference in preserving Texas history and enriching educational opportunities for generations to come.
